ADHD Treatment in Scottsdale, Arizona
Knowing what to do and being able to do it are two different things.
ADHD is not a discipline problem. It is a difference in how the brain starts and finishes effort. We check the biology first, then train the skill, for adolescents and adults.

What ADHD Actually Is
ADHD is a difference in how the brain handles attention, starting, and finishing. It is not a measure of how much someone cares or how hard they are willing to work.
The part of the brain that understands a task is not the part that starts it. Dopamine drives starting. When that circuit runs low, a person can describe exactly what needs to happen and still be unable to begin. That gap is the whole experience, and it is why effort and results stop matching.
Why we say experiencing ADHD, not being ADHDWhy we say experiencing ADHD, not being ADHD +
Language shapes identity, and identity is what we are actually trying to change. A person having a hard time starting things is not a category of person. It describes something happening in a system, and systems can be changed. We hold that line in every room, on purpose.
The Gap
Most ADHD care starts with a prescription or a set of strategies. Planners, timers, apps. Both ask a depleted system to perform, then read the failure as a motivation problem.
People do not stall because they lack insight. They stall because their body cannot execute the insight they already have.
We build in the opposite order. Structure first, so the system stops spending fuel on deciding. Biology second, so there is fuel to spend. Regulation third, because attention is downstream of state.
Biology Before Psychology
You cannot coach focus into a system without the raw materials to produce it. Most of what matters here is invisible on standard bloodwork, so we run more than standard bloodwork.
Sleep and airway
Sleep architecture assessed, apnea screened. Nothing degrades attention faster.
Read moreClose+
You cannot repair sleep around an airway problem nobody identified. Morning bright light and evening screen limits get built into the schedule, not handed out as tips on a sheet.
Iron and ferritin
Ferritin affects dopamine directly, and it is one of the most correctable findings.
Read moreClose+
Iron storage can sit low while iron itself looks normal on a standard panel, which is why ferritin has to be ordered specifically. It rarely is.
Vitamin D, B12, folate
The raw materials required to produce dopamine and serotonin at all.
Read moreClose+
Vitamin D affects serotonin synthesis and most people are low. Homocysteine goes with this group, because high levels point to methylation problems that block neurotransmitter production upstream.
Magnesium, zinc, copper
Magnesium settles the nervous system. Zinc and copper build neurotransmitters.
Read moreClose+
We measure RBC magnesium rather than serum, because serum tells you almost nothing. Zinc and copper go with it, and their ratio matters too.
Full thyroid panel
Not TSH alone, which is all most panels include.
Read moreClose+
Free T3 and free T4 are where the answer usually is. A thyroid running slightly out of range produces fatigue, fog, and low drive that read exactly like inattention.
Blood sugar and inflammation
Unstable blood sugar wrecks focus, mood, and energy in the same shape ADHD does.
Read moreClose+
Fasting insulin and HbA1c, plus CRP and ESR. Inflammation blocks absorption of nearly everything else on this list, so it gets addressed before we conclude a supplement is not working.
Omega-3 index
Measurable, correctable, and almost never checked. Detailed below.
Read moreClose+
Low omega-3 is associated with inflammation and poorer mood and attention regulation. We test the index and the omega-6 to omega-3 ratio rather than guessing from diet history.
Hormones and cortisol
They decide whether brain chemistry can do its job in the first place.
Read moreClose+
Testosterone in both sexes affects motivation and drive. Estradiol and progesterone shift serotonin sensitivity. Cortisol measured against DHEA-S shows whether the stress response is recovering between demands or staying switched on.
Gut health
Roughly ninety percent of serotonin is produced in the gut, not the brain.
Read moreClose+
With chronic gut inflammation, bacterial imbalance, or absorption problems, you can supplement all day and the serotonin system will not respond the way you expect. This is a primary variable, not a wellness add-on.
Omega-3, Omega-6, and the Ratio Between Them
The brain is built largely from fat, and that fat comes from food. EPA and DHA, the two omega-3s that matter most, make up the membranes dopamine and serotonin receptors sit inside. A membrane built from the wrong material does not pass a signal as cleanly.
Most modern diets run heavy on omega-6, from seed oils and processed food, and light on omega-3.
Read moreClose+
The ratio between the two matters more than either number alone, and it has shifted dramatically in one generation. Research on omega-3 in ADHD has found modest but real improvements in attention and impulsivity, with the largest effects in people who started out low. That last part is what matters, because low is something a blood test identifies instead of guesses at.
We are careful about what this is. Correcting an omega imbalance is not a cure and it does not replace anything else in a plan. It is one variable. It is measurable, it is inexpensive to correct, and leaving it unmeasured risks asking someone to work harder against a problem that was never about effort.
We partner with ZinZino, a Norwegian company whose testing technology lets us monitor our clients' omega-6 to omega-3 balance, and gut health where indicated, over the course of care rather than at a single point in time.
Not everyone gets every test. Lab work helps build your plan, it is not a diagnosis on its own, and any nutrition support is added under medical oversight.
Four Pillars, Applied to ADHD

The order does not move. Training a skill before the system can hold it is how people end up with a drawer full of strategies they cannot reach for when it counts.
How the Work Actually Gets Done
Movement Lab
One of the most direct levers on dopamine available without a prescription.
Read moreClose+
Structured movement raises activation on purpose, then teaches the body to bring it back down. Coaches work the down-regulation live, while the heart rate is still up.
Controlled stress exposure
Discomfort practiced on purpose, through exercise, sound, and visual projection.
Read moreClose+
Regulation only trains under real activation, so we raise it deliberately and coach the recovery live. The stimulus is physical effort, sound, and the projected environment, not shock or endurance tests. We also teach people to read the signal correctly: a racing heart before something hard is the body getting ready, not proof that something is wrong. Each repetition of activation, pause, and recovery raises the threshold for what feels threatening.
Immersive sensory environment
In the Confidence Lab, 360-degree projection and surround sound raise activation honestly.

It works better when it does not feel clinical. A group that feels like a game gets more genuine activation, and more genuine buy-in, than a lecture with mood lighting. A nervous system that is not bracing can actually practice the skill.
The space itself
The room is designed to hold calm, then to hold change. It is doing clinical work.
Read moreClose+
Warm colors, intentional lighting, soft acoustics, clean sightlines, and sound chosen for what it does to a nervous system rather than for atmosphere. Nothing about it feels institutional, and that is the point. A space that signals safety before anyone speaks lowers the load a person walks in carrying, and a person carrying less can actually practice something new.
Sleep and circadian work
Morning bright light, evening screen limits, a schedule built into the structure.
Read moreClose+
Sleep is one of the largest levers on attention that exists. We assess architecture and screen for apnea rather than handing out hygiene tips. Clients also wear a small tracker that reads sleep stages, resting heart rate, and daily rhythm, so we are working from what your body actually did last night instead of what you remember of it.
Neurofeedback
Real-time feedback gives practice noticing and shifting your own state.
Read moreClose+
Used when clinically and age appropriate, as a support tool inside the plan rather than a standalone fix. Three scans by design, baseline, midpoint, and final, so progress is visible rather than assumed.
TMS
Non-invasive, FDA-cleared, delivered under medical supervision when criteria are met.
Read moreClose+
Covered by most major plans when criteria are met. It is an advanced support tool, not a cure, and it is coordinated with the rest of the plan rather than billed as an add-on.
Peer support
Doing the work alongside people who are doing the same work. That is a biological input, not a bonus.
Read moreClose+
Oxytocin, released through genuine contact and shared experience, supports regulation, trust, and stress buffering. It also makes change visible: when progress is witnessed by peers, going back to the old pattern costs something socially, which is part of why it holds.
Family workshops
The people you live with are part of the plan, not an audience for it.
Read moreClose+
Most households land in one of two places: reminding constantly, or stepping in and finishing the task. Both keep the follow-through outside the person. Workshops give families a third option, and the same language the clinical team uses, so the structure at home matches the structure here instead of working against it.
A short list of tools, practiced until they are automatic. Someone under real pressure will not pause to recall tool fourteen of twenty. They use whatever is already grooved in.
Neurofeedback and TMS are advanced support tools used when clinically and age appropriate. They are not cures, and they are delivered under licensed medical oversight.
Where Medication Fits
We do not push medication and we do not withhold it. Stimulant medication works for a lot of people, and for some it is the difference between functioning and not. What it does not do is build the system underneath it.
Medication has a place. It is not the same thing as treatment.
How medication decisions actually get made here +
A Mental Performance Physician reviews medication in the context of everything else. Sleep, labs, nutrition, and what someone is actually able to practice. If a medication is already working, we build around it. If it never worked, or the trade-offs cost more than they returned, that is worth understanding rather than repeating at a higher dose.
Where This Happens
Same four pillars in all three, in the same order. The only thing that changes is how much of the structure we hold and how much the person holds themselves.
Resilience Academy is a structured growth and accountability program. It is not clinical care and it is enrolled separately. Level of care is recommended based on clinical assessment and medical necessity as part of a plan built and reviewed with you.
Who We Work With
Adolescents ages 12 and up, and adults, in separate age-appropriate groups. Programming, group composition, and family involvement are structured differently for each.
Attention was not lost by accident. A generation grew up inside systems built to trade focus and patience for small constant rewards. That is a real biological input, not a character flaw.
Families are part of the plan, not a courtesy add-on. You cannot regulate someone for six hours a day and send them home to a household running the old patterns. The home wins every time, so we work with the home.
Looks Like ADHD
Some of these sit alongside ADHD. Some make it worse. Some get mistaken for it entirely. All of them are measurable, and most never get checked.
This is not a reason to doubt an ADHD experience, and it is not a list to diagnose yourself with. It is the reason we measure before deciding what to treat.

Built for Your Nervous System
Warm light, quiet acoustics, and rooms that do not feel clinical. A nervous system settles faster in a space that is not asking it to brace, so the room is part of the work rather than decoration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Effort Was Never the Missing Piece
Structure holds what willpower cannot. Biology decides what structure can build on. With both in place, the work moves toward follow-through that costs less than it used to.
